She’s Fire streaked to a front-running victory in the Sept. 26 Fitz Dixon, Jr. Memorial S. at Presque Isle Downs to become the second stakes winner for Flameaway [WATCH RACE].
The Darby Dan stallion, who also is responsible for Sorrento S. (G3) winner Dreamfyre, is the only First-Crop sire with two stakes winners and is third on the list by progeny earnings, with $960,000. Wine Collector will attempt to become Flameaway’s third stakes winner in Saturday’s $150,000 Laurel Futurity.
She’s Fire made her presence felt immediately in the 6 ½-furlong Dixon, opening up a three-length lead in the first quarter-mile. After getting a breather on the turn, she sprinted clear in the stretch once again, coming home a 3 ¼-length winner in 1:15.45 on the synthetic surface.
Owned by the Divine Light Healing Ministries, She’s Fire is 2-1-0 in six starts and has earned $117,870. The bay filly was bred by Connie Brown and Bill & Phyllis Adair.
